LOCAL artist Elizabeth Duguid has been announced as this year's winner
of the prestigious Landscape Painting award at the Royal Easter Show in
Sydney.
The award was a highlight for the Hunchy Road artist, whose career has
spanned 25 years. Liz, who was responsible for organising local children
to create the colourful murals in Palmwoods, has more than 40 art prizes
to her credit and works in more than 30 major collections.
She said her paintings captured the local landscape.
"I feel it is my duty to capture the landscape before it has been changed
for all time," she said. During 1995, Liz was selected as one of the artists
to spend time painting at Arthur Boyd's historic New South Wales property
"Riversdale".
Liz's work will be featured at Montville's Tony Gill Galleries during Easter.
