PALMWOODS Arts and Crafts Group’s folk art meetings are proving popular.

The folk art group meets on the third Friday of each month. At the last meeting on April 18, members painted their own design on a terracotta pot with the help of group leader Pat Hoskins.

There will be a display of works from the Palmwoods Arts and Crafts Group at the Palmwoods Country Fair on May 17, at 3pm.

Joan Lilly is inspiring members to enjoy the art of calligraphy.

The form being studied this year is foundational hand and towards the end of the year, a special tutor will be engaged to round off the year with a workshop in Gothic.

Calligraphy group meetings are on the second Monday of the month from 9.30am to noon and the fourth Wednesday from 1pm to 3pm.
