CWA POSTS A WINNER

MEMBERS of the Palmwoods branch of the QCWA have had a busy time with the cooking, knitting and crochet finals in April and successful International day in Nambour on May 14.

The Australian Island Territories were studied this year and several Palmwoods State School children won prizes in the poster competition. Congratulations to the winners:

Grade 1, Fleur Booth 1, Morgan Prentice 2; Grades 2 and 3 Mara Quinn 1,

Brendan Duce 2; Special Awards, Grade 2 Laura Rasmussen 1, Christina Bye 2; Grades 4 and 5 Paula Jeffries 1, Sam Angus 2; Highly Commended as a trier, Grades 4 and 5 Rebecca Nixon; Grades 6 and 7, Alex Dilley Matthews 1, Abby Johnston 2; Highly commended for neatness, Grades 6 and 7, Leigh Park.

The QCWA Conference is being held in Brisbane from June 17-20 and as members will be at conference, the June branch meeting will now be held on Thursday, June 26 at 1pm.

There will be a make-up demonstration after the meeting and everyone is welcome to come along. On Saturday, June 7, the branch will host the Palmwoods Dance in the Memorial Hall.
