Sun safe tanning now in Palmwoods
PEOPLE who want to give their skin a beautiful golden-glow without the risks of skin cancer and premature ageing now have a safe alternative.
Miranda Greer from the Palmwoods District News spoke to Lyn Stevens from Lyn’s Bodybeautiful about the safe and easy way to give your skin a healthy glow.
Question: What makes solariums so good?
Answer: It’s controlled and it works by supplying sufficient UVA to promote a healthy tan, while eliminating all UVC and leaving only a small amount of UVB (only 2%) to encourage the tanning process.
Q: Do solariums cause sunburn?
A: No, because the UVB is so small.
Q: Can I expose my entire body?
A: Yes, of course. In fact, one advantage is complete privacy. No more patchy suntans. What you wear is up to you.
Q How long does a treatment last?
A: Depending o your skin type, and ability to tan, a minimum of 10 minutes and maximum of 30 minutes every second day will produce a healthy tan in 8 to 10 sessions. Once or twice a week will maintain a healthy tan.
Q: Are suntan oils and creams necessary?
A: No. In fact all suncream lotions do is screen the UVB rays. Solariums have already done this for you.
Q: How much will it cost?
A: Only $6 per visit or 10 visits for $50. Bookings are preferred.
