Eudlo's 100th birthday bash

PREPARATIONS are underway for Eudlo State School’s biggest party, which will be held on September 6, 1997.

Steady progress is being made towards the School’s centenary celebrations which will include three days of fun festivities from September 5 to 7.

Some of the activities already planned include a Bush Dance to be held in the Eudlo Hall on September 5.

On the Centenary Day, activities will commence at 9am and will include stalls, roll calls and entertainment.

Some of the special displays planned for the day include the Sunshine Coast Antique Car Club, The Woombye Light Horse Brigade, The Sunshine Coast Woodcarvers Association and the Eudlo Fire Brigade.

A centenary dinner will be held on Saturday night in the Eudlo Hall which will be open from 4pm with dinner to be served at 6pm.

The weekend’s activities will finish Sunday morning with an Ecumenical Church Service at 10am at the school.

An Official Centenary Book is being compiled and page sponsorship is being offered for $20 a page. The Centenary Committee still requires photos and written articles, as they have few early history items.

If anyone has any older photos that could be used or would like to write an article on their school days, it would be greatly appreciated.

Souvenirs will include coffee mugs, beer mugs, tea towels, teaspoons, bottles of port and Centenary Books and recipe books.

An official invitation plus program will be issued in July. The celebrations will also include those who were involved with the now closed Ilkley School.
