POLICE BEAT
WITH SNR CONSTABLE PAUL CAMPBELL

PROWLERS have been frequenting a home near the Woombye Cemetery. They may be looking for easy targets, so if anyone notices anything suspicious, no matter how trivial, they should report the matter to Palmwoods Police.

THIEVES tried to steal a car parked at the Palmwoods Railway Station. It is believed the offenders may be young as they pushed the car a short way down the car park trying to start it before realising it was automatic. A camera was stolen from inside the car.

DUE to yet another break-in at the Chevallum School, the P and C has been forced to fit its own security system to the school area. During the most recent incident, a microwave oven, sandwich maker and a radio/cassette player were stolen.

A LARGE quantity of compact discs, a video and a sound system were stolen in a break and enter at Eudlo. It was an unusual choice as many of the 120 compact discs were by French artists and may not be to everyone’s taste. This may help in locating the offenders. Anyone locating these distinctive CDs is asked to contact Palmwoods Police.

THERE were only two minor accidents in Palmwoods during the past month. Motorists are asked to use caution on the Razorback Road where recent rain has made conditions slippery.

FOLLOWING the house fire on McKees Road, residents are reminded that fitting an earth leakage unit to the electricity box can reduce the risk of fire due to electrical faults. These units are now mandatory in new homes but older residences may not have them fitted. These units cost less than $200 to fit.
