THE Palmwoods Arts and Crafts Group recently enjoyed a visit from Margaret McGinnis, who showed items she had accumulated during her trips to Japan.

Great interest was shown in the painted birds which "burst" into song at the tap of the table. For those who missed out on this treat, Margaret will be visiting again at 9.30am before the July meeting.

Mary Appledorn will be showing members how to make ribbon roses on embroidery day, July 23.

There will be no extra cost for this, only to cover your materials. A photocopy of the requirements for this workshop is obtainable at The Shed.

The group has received a great deal of interest in its upcoming workshop on making paper from natural fibres. The workshop will be conducted by Desley Wain and will be held over two weekends.

The first workshop will be held on August 23 and 24, and patrons are asked to save ginger, banana leaves and lemon grass.
