BUSINESS NEWS Homecare Direct Shopping -- Woombye Seafood and Takeaway -- Palmwoods Takeaway
The direct shopping concept offers a wide range of quality household and everyday items presented in attractive, glossy catalogues which are updated throughout the year and delivered by a team of independent distributors. There are more than 1500 distributors delivering catalogues to 180,000 Australian doorsteps every week. Householders can then shop at leisure and decide in their own time whether theres anything in the catalogue theyd like to purchase and have delivered to home. Its that simple - no face-to-face selling and the products speak for themselves. Local distributor for the Palmwoods area is Jeanette Corcoran. She will deliver a catalogue and then collect the order. Nothing is paid until the products are delivered to the door by Jeanette. All of Homecares products are fully guaranteed. If youre not completely satisfied with any item, you can contact Jeanette within 30 days of purchase and the item will be replaced, or money refunded without question. To help Homecare be environmentally responsible, customers are asked to leave the catalogue out for collection as they are re-used as many times as possible. The paper used in the catalogue is chlorine free and comes from managed tree plantations. Homecare Direct Shopping is a wholly owned subsidiary of an Australian company called Innovations. Innovations has grown rapidly since its birth in Sydney in 1982. It is now Australias largest and most successful Mail Order company, producing over 35 million catalogues each year with over 650,000 active customers on their database. Homecare Direct Shopping was launched in Sydney in mid 1994, and now has a distribution network in every state and territory in Australia. "We are really enjoying working here," Sharron said. "The customers and local people are just so friendly, and have kept us very busy." She said the store had been given a new, cleaner look, which many customers had commented on. THE new look Palmwoods Takeaway has received overwhelmingly warm welcome from residents during the its first two weeks of operation. Owners Peter and Judy Nelson said many customers had commented on the stores new look and increased product range. Hot chickens have been extremely popular, thanks to the water injected oven which roasts chickens to perfection. Other popular items have been the top quality calamari and delicious kebabs with a variety of sauces. Peter said the store had been extremely busy, with customers lined up outside the door on Friday and Saturday nights. "People were out on the streets and some of the other businesses commented that they had never seen people line up for fish and chips like that before," Peter said. Customers are welcome to ring through orders to save them waiting (phone 5445 9585), or dine in at the tastefully decorated new-look premises. |
