Restaurant -- Karen's Hair and
Beauty CAFÉS from around the world feature in the paintings of artist Pauline Halsall, who is guest artist at Clios Restaurant this month. Paulines exhibition is called Café Capers, and captures the essence of the café society, including a number of popular Sunshine Coast establishments. Talented, and with many awards to her credit, Pauline hails from Ballarat and is currently teaching at the Cooloola Sunshine Institute of TAFE. Pauline has had many successful solo and group exhibitions in Melbourne, Brisbane and in galleries across the Sunshine Coast. The Café Capers exhibition continues to October 30.
PALMWOODS women are invited to enjoy an evening of great fashion and fine dining at the Karens Hair and Beauty Spring Fever Fashion Parade at Clios Restaurant on September 18. The evening will begin at 6.30pm with a sumptuous three-course dinner, followed by a fashion parade featuring the designs of Celia, Gypsy Soul and Bali Sky. All fashions on show are affordably priced, top quality garments and will be available for purchase on the night. Karen Tannock, owner of Karens Hair and Beauty, said tickets for the night were selling fast, and bookings were essential. "Why not book a table with friends and enjoy a social night out with the girls?" she said. "And what better way to spend a much deserved night out than with good food, friends and fashions." Customers will also be able to meet Marie Kimpton, who is Karens Hair and Beautys new senior hair stylist. Marie is a highly qualified hair stylist, who has won many awards for hairdressing. Marie has been working in the salon for six weeks and is enthusiastic at meeting many of her new clients at the fashion parade to discuss their fashion needs with them. ANGRY Anderson, one of Australias best loved characters, will officially open Woombyes new True Value Hardware store on Thursday, September 4, at 8am. The True Value Hardware store is in the newly renovated produce shed, which has been converted into a modern, stylish showroom with everything for the handyman. Angry Anderson is best known for his acting and singing career, his regular spot on the Midday Show with Ray Martin and more recently, his Challenge series on Channel Nines A Current Affair. Angry is a satisfied customer of True Value Hardware. He says he enjoys the service level and commitment he gets from his local True Value Hardware and decided it was a hardware group which deserved his support. Woombye residents will now have the chance to utilise the buying power and outstanding customer service offered by True Value. There is a wide range of products including timber sheets, white melamine for bookshelves and cupboards and timber mouldings so that every project around the home is covered. Home gardeners havent been forgotten, as True Value also has a large range of garden supplies on display.
LYNS Bodybeautiful has a new owner and a new location. Lyn Barrett has taken over the salon from Lyn Stevens, who has taken up full time motherhood. The store has relocated to a more central location in Main Street, next to Gayles Web of Thread. Lyn said the people she had met in Palmwoods had been wonderful, and encouraged people to pop in and introduce themselves or just take a browse around the new salon.
