Brownies on board
PALMWOODS Brownies have had a busy month, taking part in the Nambour Sugar Festival and giving the Brownie hut a new look with a fresh coat of paint. The girls put their artistic talents to the test and added a mural depicting Guide and Brownie activities to the front wall of the hut. The Brownies have also been practising their horticultural skills, planting African Violets to grow this term. The Guides will be holding a disco for primary school aged children in the Guide Hut, Montville Road, from 7pm to 9pm on Friday, September 12. Entry will be $2 a child, with a lucky door prize and competitions during the evening. Drinks and lollies will be on sale for supper and there will be adult supervision. Parents are requested to pick their children up at the door. The Guides activities have included photos, skating and a special activities night planned for Fathers Day. Community involvement would be welcome at the AGM coming up in October. The Guiding movement helps build swlf awareness and community responsibility and offers a wide range of activities. Any help with leadership or committee activities would be appreciated. The Brownie unit is full unless Kirri can get a unit helper or another leader to help. There are vacancies in the Guide unit for 10 to 15 year olds. Contact Wairan 5445 9990. |
