Win a paper-making kit

YOUNG Palmwoods District News readers have the chance to win a Shamrock Craft Papermaking Kit valued at $74.

All you have to do is colour the ÔLife on Planet Carton’ drawing provided, and send it to The Palmwoods District News, P.O. Box 250, Palmwoods, 4555. Don’t forget to include your address and phone number.

On Planet Carton, everything is made from milk and juice cartons - the basic building blocks of life.

On Earth, milk and juice cartons come in many sizes as well as different shapes, made from trees harvested from sustainably managed forests, where for every tree harvested, many more are planted.

After you finish your milk or juice, recycle your cartons. They will be used in the manufacture of new products such as flooring, office furniture or paper.

Cartons are waterproof and unbreakable and are easy to cut, bend and decorate - and they’re degradable - you can even put them on the compost pile. Or you can create trains, planes, bird houses and buildings from empty cartons.

The colouring competition is open to children up to 12 years, with the first prize of the Papermaking Kit, and second and third prizes of a Carton Craft Book.

Winners will be announced in the November edition of the Palmwoods District News.
