POLICE BEAT
WITH SNR CONSTABLE PAUL CAMPBELL

PROBLEMS still exist at the Palmwoods Railway Station car park where a resident had his vehicle broken into. Sand and water was put in his petrol tank, causing moderate damage to the fuel system of the vehicle.

POLICE and SES services were required to assist a French tourist who tried to scale the Kondalilla Falls cliff face and lost his nerve. With the assistance of the helicopter and SES personnel, a very embarrassed French man was pulled to safety.

IN the Glenview area, a stray pony was hit by a car and had to be put down by a vet. Owners of stock are reminded that it is their responsibility to keep their stock in their paddocks as they are liable for any damage their animal may cause should it stray on to the road.

THERE has been a number of complaints regarding gunshots being heard in the Palmwoods area. Unconfirmed reports reveal are that these are possibly fireworks. If any persons have any information please advise the Palmwoods police, as this is causing concern to elderly residents in the area.

THERE has been only a few minor accidents in the Palmwoods division during the past month but drivers are reminded that the long dry season will cause a build up on oil and grease on the road and rain will create very slippery conditions.
