Strawbfest fever hits town CHEVALLUMS annual Strawbfest is about to spring into action again, celebrating the peak strawberry harvest time in Australias biggest strawberry growing district. Chevallum State Schools award winning grounds will be the site for the festival, which is certain to be bigger and better than last year. A Rainbow Serpent Procession of children will open the festivities, weaving its way with music and dance through the crowds, and will gather up the crowds at the end of the night for the spectacular fireworks display. A range of quality international food will be available including Mexican, Indian, Mediterranean, barbecue, coffee and cake, and of course, everything strawberry - icecream, milk shakes, daiquiris, syrup, jam, pavlova and fresh strawberries. Children will have a great time with activities and rides including the scrambler, a chair-o-plane, and the giant slide. There will also be 10 pin bowling, face painting and dress up for younger children. Music will include jazz, folk, Maori performance and A Capella. Other attractions include a licensed bar, super auction, fashion parade and a Kung Fu demonstration. The many stalls will include plants, flowers and herbs, coffee and cake, Christmas items and quality pre-loved items. For further information, contact Belinda Kirkwood or Kerrie Day on 5445 9238. |
