Fire headquarters opened

WEST Woombye Rural Fire Brigade has celebrated the official opening of its Jacksons Road headquarters.

More than 100 people turned up when Member for Nicklin Neil Turner performed the opening on August 30. He was joined by the CEO of the Queensland Rural Fire Service David Cromb and QFS Rural Division Inspector District Glen Mills.

A copy of the first ever order from the minutes of 1952 - prepared by Peter Reilly - was presented to the QFS. Mr Reilly was guest of honour at the opening as a plaque was unveiled in his honour.
