Green growing guide GARDENERS wondering whats best for their Palmwoods garden can turn to a new guide released by the Palmwoods Progress Association. The Growing Guide has a listing of almost 100 plant species recommended by Maroochy Shire Councils parks and gardens experts as suitable for Palmwoods gardens. The guide includes trees, large shrubs, small shrubs, vines and ground covers and palm species suited to the local climate and soil. "For best results, it makes sense to be guided by the type of plants - exotic and native - which might have occurred naturally," the guide says. It also contains a number of useful tips for putting the palms back into Palmwoods. Published with the financial support of Geoff and Trish Littler with artwork donated by the Palmwoods District News, the Growing Guide is available from the Palmwoods Post Office, Palmwoods Newsagency, Palmwoods Real Estate and Bill Ellis First National Real Estate. Individuals or organisations wanting bulk copies of the guide should contact the Palmwoods District News, 5478 9966. |
