One "hall" of a play house

WINNING the model of the Palmwoods Memorial Hall which was centrepiece on the Palmwoods entry in the sugar parade, has given young Sean Jurman a new place to play.

Sean, 11, is using the model as a cubby house, and has it decked out with all the creature comforts including carpet, a mattress, a rug and a lamp.

The true to size model, made by Palmwoods Progress Association members Jim and Lyndal Cushing and Ray Knight for the hall's anniversary celebrations, was raffled by the association.

Sean said he was excited by the win and was looking forward to having a lot of fun in the cubby.

Mum Shirley Jurman, formerly of the Palmwoods Post Office, said the model was extremely well made and didn't leak during wet weather.

The Jurmans bought their winning ticket from Bev Everson outside the Palmwoods Newsagency.

"It was one of the first tickets sold," Shirley said.
