Film premiere benefits Cittamani NAMBOURS Cittamani Hospice Service will present the premier of Brad Pitts latest movie "Seven Years in Tibet" on Thursday, December 4. The movie is directed by Jean-Jacques Annaud and is based on Heinrich Harrers widely read memoirs. The film tells of the epic journey of mountaineer, Harrer, who in 1939 attempted to climb one of the highest peaks in the Himalayas. He became imprisoned but later escaped and found refuge in Tibet, where he became both a student and friend of the Dalai Lama, the spiritual leader of the Tibetan people. Tickets for the film are $15 which includes wine and cheese at 5.45pm and the film starts at 6.30pm. Cittamani Hospice Service provides compassionate home based care to the terminally ill and their families. All proceeds from the film go towards the continuation of the Cittamani Hospice Service. The service has recently lost the use of a house in Hospital Road car park in Nambour which has been its base since leaving Palmwoods. Maroochy Shire council has not renewed the lease due to the state of repair of the building which will now be demolished. |
