Cabinets open doors to a big future for David

WORKING with wood has proved a winner for Palmwoods apprentice David Dixon.

David, a second year apprentice at Palmwoods Cabinets, has won two awards for outstanding achievement in his field.

At a recent awards ceremony, David took out the High Achiever Award, making him the top second year cabinet making apprentice on the Sunshine Coast.

David also won the Charles Duke Memorial Award, which was sponsored by the Rotary Club and represents all Sunshine Coast apprentices.

David has been working with Col Ritchie at Palmwoods Cabinets for two years and said he was really enjoying his training.

"I always enjoyed woodwork at school," David said. "I completed a TAFE pre-vocational course before I started with Col, which gave me a bit more experience."
