POLICE BEAT
WITH SNR CONSTABLE PAUL CAMPBELL

A NUMBER of break and enters have been reported in the Palmwoods business community.
During the early hours of January 8, the Palmwoods Bowls Club was broken into. Fortunately, the alarm activated, scaring off two male offenders who were seen running from the area with only a bottle of vodka which was quickly grabbed on exit.
It is possible that the same offenders were responsible for a break and enter the following night during the early hours of January 9, when the Main Street Cafe was broken into and a large quantity of drinks, lollies and ice cream together with a vacuum cleaner and a milkshake maker were stolen.
It is possible that these offenders may have just moved into the area and may be setting up residence. It would be appreciated if anyone has any information they contact Palmwoods police.

THERE are still a number of vehicles being interfered with at the Palmwoods Railway Station. Commuters are reminded not to leave any valuables in their vehicles to tempt thieves. may be tempted to break into the vehicle. During the holidays, a number of vehicles were broken into with a small amount of property being stolen.

A VEHICLE, stolen from Maroochydore, was located at The Ettamogah Pub after the owners followed the offender. Palmwoods police were called and the offender was apprehended and taken to Nambour CIB where he was charged.

RESIDENTS are reminded to take care that everything is turned off when leaving their premises. A recent fire at Glenview totally destroyed a house. Don’t become a victim.

THERE has been a number of complaints of speeding on Montville Road between Palmwoods township and the school. When radar patrols have been carried out in this area in conjunction with the Sunshine Coast Traffic Branch, the clear majority of those booked for speeding have been local residents. Residents are reminded to be mindful of their speed.
