Family treble at Chevallum CHEVALLUM State School is keeping it in the family with the enrolment this year of Year One student Kathleen Jeremy. Kathleen follows her older sister Amanda and brother Phillip who started at Chevallum in the mid-80s. Phillip was one of the original students to start Year One at the present location in 1987 while Amanda started at the old school in 1986. The schools multi-aged grouping also sees three members of one family all in the same classroom with siblings in Years 1, 2 and 3. Chevallum State School has maintained its numbers for 1998, although further enrolments are welcome with vacancies in all years from Pre-School to Year 7. In all, 27 new Year Ones have settled in with few tears shed on the first day. On Wednesday, February 4, the student representatives will be presented with their Senator Badges. Congratulations to Kate Christensen, Sean Corcoran, Stephanie Fisher, Sam Foster, Bhima Parkes, Sage Parkes, Erin Pfeiffer, Luke Smith and Amy Suta. These students will have varied school responsibilities during the year. The next meeting of the P & C is Tuesday, February 10 at 9am. All parents are welcome to attend, particularly new-to-the-school parents. Refreshments are provided. The Annual General Meeting will be held on March 10. Meanwhile at Eudlo, enrolments are slightly down on last year with 74 children enrolled for 1998, including three new Year Ones. |
