Lions Lines WITH the festive season now behind us, the Palmwoods-Woombye Lions Club undertook its first major project for 1998 as a part of the Australia Day joint venture with the Palmwoods Progress Association. The Lions provided some 300 Australia day breakfasts, of which 70 were free to children. Sixteen club members working in the Lions tent enabled the supply of breakfast burgers with little or no waiting. The club wishes to congratulate those people who took part in the Citizenship Ceremony and others who were recipients of Palmwoods Citizens of the Year awards. DURING January, the Lions Club assisted in providing coffee, tea and milo to drivers at the local Driver Reviver Station. This is located at the Mobil Service Station, Forest Glen. During four hours, 166 drivers and passengers were served refreshments. WE welcome back to our membership, Bob Wade (Woombye Festival Supermarket). Bob was an active club member until business pressure forced him to resign a few years ago. He has always been of great assistance to many of our projects. Great to have you back Bob. ALSO welcome to another new member, Crighton Gray, who with his wife Joyce has transferred from the Lions Club of Kingaroy, and is now living in our area. We hope you both enjoy your new surroundings and your association with Palmwoods-Woombye Lions.
