Ladies bowls is 50

THE first president of Palmwoods Ladies Bowling and its first singles champion were among the guests at the 50th anniversary celebrations of ladies bowling in Palmwoods.

Selah Clavel and Thelma Young joined representatives from clubs around Queensland as well as other past members and presidents at the celebrations last month.

Representatives from the North Coast, Sunshine Coast, and Kedron District bowls clubs also attended.

Palmwoods president Dorothea Moyle who welcomed guests, said she was pleased to see such a strong attendance of bowlers from other areas in Palmwoods.

The lady bowlers celebrated with lunch and a bowls morning.
