Progress calls for fresh interest PALMWOODS Progress Association president Ron Corelli is calling on local residents to take a greater interest in their community by attending the annual general meeting on Thursday, April 23. Mr Corelli said he hoped a new committee would be elected as the meeting represented an opportunity for "new blood" to come into the organisation. "The current executive and committee have been holding the fort for four years and it is time to inject new enthusiasm and new ideas," he said. "I would urge members, friends, and residents of Palmwoods to attend this very important meeting." Topics being discussed by the association include the Palmwoods Local Area Plan and the councils proposal to introduce parking meters in Palmwoods, Woombye and Buderim. The PPA has been established since 1902 to represent the wishes and views of the people of Palmwoods. Yearly membership fees are nominal and include a whole family fee. Application forms are available from the secretary, PO Box 181, Palmwoods, or call the treasurer, 54450280. The AGM will be held at 7.30pm in the meeting room at the Palmwoods Memorial Hall on Thursday April 23. |
