Record crowds turned out to pay tribute to veterans of all wars at Anzac
Day dawn services in Woombye and Palmwoods. The Palmwoods ceremony, which started at 4.28am - the time the Anzacs landed at Gallipoli - was conducted by Rev Keith Mayers and Rev Pat King. At Woombye, the Salvation Army conducted a moving service as the sun rose over the memorial park at 5.30am. For the full Anzac Day story, see page 11. |
