Progress seeks secretary THE PALMWOODS Progress Association is seeking a secretary following its annual general meeting at Palmwoods Memorial Hall on April 23. The new management committee is president Ron Corelli, vice-president Jim Cushing, treasurer Beverly Everson and committee Roger Brooke and Dorothy Whittington. As no-one at the meeting was available to take on the position of secretary, members are now looking to recruit a suitable person for the position. Interested residents and members who were unable to attend the meeting are asked to consider taking on the role. The association meets on the second Thursday evening of each month for about one hour. Responsibilities of the secretary include minute taking, with some outgoing correspondence usually decided and constructed by motions carried at the meeting. Assistance will be given by the management committed and an experienced executive. Anyone interested in the secretary position should contact Ron Corelli on 5445 9172 or Bev Everson on 5445 0975. The AGM was followed by the April monthly meeting with discussion including the new Australia Day Commemoration Memorial Concept which was approved at the March Meeting, the July dance night and general business. The next meeting will at 7.30pm on Thursday May 14, at Palmwoods Memorial Hall. New members from the Palmwoods resident and business sector are invited to attend and visitors are always welcome. |
