New vet comes to town
WOOMBYE now has its own Veterinary Surgery opposite Wades in Blackall Street, offering competitive prices and 24 hour service for local pet owners. Owner and veterinary surgeon Paul Shiel, will be holding an open day on Saturday May 23, from 10.30-11.30am at the surgery, which has now been open four weeks. "Basically, we want to promote public awareness that we are here because often when a new business starts up, a lot of people dont know where you are, or who you are," Paul said. "We are holding the open day so that local people can come along and have a look at the surgery and see if they would feel comfortable bringing their pets in." Paul, who has recently relocated from Toowoomba, studied Veterinary Surgery at the University of Queensland and has14 years of experience behind him. Operating 24 hours, he provides a range of services including emergency call-out, house and farm visits and animal care products at competitive prices. "Often pensioners have difficulty getting their pets to a surgery which is why we are offering 24 hour house and farm calls," he said. "We also sell an extensive range of flea treatments, worm medication and prescription diet foods at a competitive in price, as weve found that a lot of vet products tend to be marked up and over-priced." Paul, along with trainee veterinary nurse Renee Parsons, would be pleased to show pet owners around the surgery and assist with any enquiries. The surgery is open Monday to Friday from 8.30am to 5.30pm and Saturday from 8.30am to 11am. For further enquiries about the open day phone Paul or Renee on 5442 2000. |
