POLICE BEAT THE Sun Pacific Cycle Club held a large race meeting at Eudlo where hundreds of cyclists competed in the events. This was a very well organised event with only minor disruptions to local residents. These sorts of events are good for the youth of the community and a boost for the Eudlo township, with large numbers of people coming into the area. It is good to see Eudlo residents behind the promoters. THERE has been three break and enters in remote areas where electronic equipment has
been stolen. Three people in a gold coloured Sigma wagon were seen acting suspiciously in
one area. Residents are reminded to keep an eye on neighbouring properties in rural areas,
as these are sometimes targeted by the criminal element. GRAFFITI and obscenities were etched by small minded people in the new concrete floor of the Palmwoods Child Care centre in Robert Street. Anyone who has any information is asked to please contact Palmwoods Police. A BRICK was thrown through the front window of Palmwoods Takeaway in Main Street in the early hours of May 24. The brick had to be thrown with some force to break the window and bounce off the counter so it is believed to have come from a moving vehicle or thrown with great intensity. Anyone who may have observed any suspicious behaviour in the area is asked to contact police. A MALE found sleeping on the platform of the Palmwoods Railway Station on a Sunday morning was questioned. He gave his name and a Brisbane address and stated that he thought he was at Beenleigh, having last come from a Brisbane night club. The man then went to the Cut Price Store to phone a taxi. After purchasing a loaf of bread he asked a staff member for directions to Brisbane and then stole a staff vehicle from behind the store and was seen driving away. Some thieves can be very blatant in committing a crime. The car has since been recovered. |
