More than just pontoons

THERE’S much more to Pontoons by Design than the name suggests.

Established five years ago, Pontoons by Design relocated from Kunda Park to Bart Street, Woombye (behind the Woombye Pub) last September. Owner Bill Bartleet said often people were mistaken when they saw the name and thought it was strictly a pontoon business.

"As you can imagine pontoons aren’t really relevant to the Woombye/Palmwoods district, so we want to make people aware that we do specialise in other areas," he said.

"In particular, we are targeting farmers with fruit picking equipment as we specialise in aluminium and steel welding."

With 16 years trade experience behind him, Bill said no job was too big or too small.

"We do general repairs and fabrication for tinnies, picking ladders and shutes," he said. "We can also pick up or deliver if needed."

Operating 7.30am to 4pm, Monday to Friday, Bill and co-worker Stephan Lioness can help with any welding needs.
