Lions Lines THE Lions Club of Palmwoods-Woombye has commenced its new year of office with President Trevor Eichmann in charge. The club decided some years ago that financial assistance would mainly be considered where the organisation was unable to raise necessary funds. The assistance passed at the meeting is as follows: Palmwoods Riding for the Disabled $1000; Visually Impaired Persons Network $200; Mental Illness Education (Qld) $200; Safety House Committee $200; Lions Emergency Accommodation Centre $200; Cittimani Hospice $200; Camp Kwality (for child cancer patients) $200; Paralympic Committee $200; Guide Dogs for the Blind (local) $200; Lions Hearing Dogs $200 and $200 is yet to be allocated. These are in addition to other assistance given during the past year. The next Lions fundraiser is the annual Lions Auction to be held at the Old Chevallum School on July 26. Donation of goods would be appreciated. For further information phone Tony on 5445 0225. |
