IT’S not often that Palmwoods District residents have an excuse to really dress up in full formal attire and dance the night away - but that’s all about to change.

Grab out the glad rags, dust off the jackets and bow ties, polish your dancing shoes and get in the mood, the Strawberry Swing Ball is coming up on Saturday, August 22, at the Palmwoods Memorial Hall.

It promises to be an evening of music and glamour, albeit a little tongue in cheek.

The Strawberry Swing formal ball presents Susie Lehman, backed by a classy five piece band. The band will be performing great jazz and blues songs of the 1920s and ‘40s in the classic style of Billie Holliday, best remembered for her distinctive interpretations of the great songs of the Swing era.

Everyone is invited to dress accordingly. The ball starts at 8pm and continues through to midnight.

Tickets are limited and must be pre-bought from Chevallum Pre-School on 5445 0463. Buffet supper is included in the price and a bar will be available for drinks.
