Hinterland Shire group appoints rep

THE Hinterland Shire Steering Committee is establishing a network of area representatives throughout the hinterland, so that local residents can get information about the move for a new shire.

The committee will place posters in all hinterland shopping and business centres, displaying key points of the new shire move and the name of the representatives for that area.

"We feel it’s very important that the people in a town or village can talk face-to-face with someone they know in their community and ask questions," Steering Committee Chairman John Chiarotto said.

"The first area representative is Annette Mira-Bateman, who will be looking after Palmwoods and we are now making arrangements for representatives in the other areas."
