HORSES are usually vaccinated against Tetanus every five years. However, those mares who may be pregnant now, can be vaccinated four to six weeks prior to foaling. This imparts some protection to the foals once they are born.

Foals may then be vaccinated at three and four months of age to be protected against tetanus.
