Eden Dorrington with his winning entry
The Walking Mud Puddle |
CHEVALLUM State School produced six winners at the Regional Schools Book Writing
Competition for National Book Week last month.
Winning book entries were from Year Six student Grace McMahon for When I Grow
Up and Year One student Eden Dorrington for The Walking Mud Puddle.
Highly commended were Patrick Walden of Year Three, Rosanna Ferguson of Year 4, Kali
Hulme of Year 6 and Family Group A Years 1-3.
The school enters the competition each year as a focus for learning and to reach a
wider audience.
Principal Lyn Winch said all student books published by Strawberry Press were of
wonderful quality and it was an outstanding effort for so many Chevallum students to be
winners at the district level this year.
All the books created and published by the schools students are on display at the
schools Resource Centre.
