Shed crafts on show

THE Palmwoods Arts and Crafts Group is staging its Craftfest on October 17 at its home, The Shed, at 153 Old Bowling Green Road.

A wide range of crafts will be demonstrated and many of the local crafters displays will be on show from 8.30am to 4pm. The group has been active for six years in Palmwoods.

Special features will include: Floral arrangements by local Palmwoods Florist Iris; herbs and herb growing information will be available through Isobel Shipard; pot plants will also be available for sale.

The Palmwoods Progress Association stall will provide information on the associations proposed plans for Federation Park and the Year 2000.

Paper making expert Patricia Butler will be on hand to guide interested visitors through the process of making paper.

The woodworkers will be on hand with a lathe for demonstrations and will also show off and sell their wares.

Other crafts which will feature are; pottery, folk art, decoupage, calligraphy, paper marbelling, paper manipulation, fabric painting in all its forms, heliography, pyrography and basket making.

The Riding For The Disabled Group will serve up Devonshire teas during the day.
