Chevallum
set for Strawbfest
CHEVALLUMS Strawbfest on Friday, October 9, will again offer a wide range of
entertainment, food, rides and stalls.
There will be a great musical line-up including Carl Lynch, Waroo Choir, Rod
Christensen and Strawberry Cool, the Tunnel Ridge Kitchen Band and talented school
students.
The smorgasbord of food choices will include Indian, Mexican, sates, curries, pizza,
barbecue, coffee and cake, and anything you could imagine in strawberries - strawberry
icecream, milk shakes, daiquiris, syrup, jam, pavlova, and plenty of fresh strawberries.
A lively sea of change procession of children and other performers will open and close
the event, complete with colourful fish, bamboo flute playing and song.
Other attractions include a silent auction, demonstrations by Gong Yau Martial Arts and
Maori Cultural group Nga Reo Rowhiri, fashion parade by Faye Rolph Academy, licenced bar
and spectacular KCs Fireworks at 8.45pm.
Chevallum State School principal Lyn Winch said the participation and commitment by the
whole school community had led to the Strawbfest being such a success in the past.
The event runs from 4.30pm until late on October 9, with plenty of parking.
