OWING to the very wet weather prevailing, the open day for the Riding for the Disabled
planned for September 12 has been postponed and will now be enjoyed by participants and
the general public on federal election day, October 3. When you are planning what time you
will be going to the local polling booth to cast your vote - also plan to go out to
Palmwoods Park on Hunchy Road and support the RDA. You will be impressed by what can be
achieved. Refreshments will be available.
CHRISTMAS is coming and St Augustines Anglican Parish of Palmwoods is planning to hold
a Christmas Fair in the church grounds on November 26. Rev. Pat King reports that between
now and the 26th, the parishioners will be very busy making sure that the many stalls will
be stacked high with saleable goods suitable for Christmas gift giving. Make this date a
must on your calendar as a Christmas theme will prevail with festive music and a carol
sing-a-long. A bountiful morning tea will be served.
THE internet has spread news of the Palmwoods News far and wide. Copies of the paper
are held on Suncoast Online, which is run by the new owner Ross Garrad. An enquiry about
the paper came from Canada, where there is also a Sunshine Coast - but no Palmwoods.
