Plans in for Woombye & Eudlo

MAROOCHY Shire Council has adopted Local Area Plans for the rail towns of Eudlo, Woombye, Yandina and Eumundi.

Planning and Development Committee Chairman Gerry Gordon, said the Local Area Plans, the result of 18 months of public consultation, examined and highlighted the major physical, social and economic benefits of each town.

The purpose of each local area plan is to guide the future development of the town and to both enhance its amenity while protecting the unique form and character of each individual rail town.

"Each Local Area Plan addresses the appropriate location for the community services and identifies the need to establish a community focus," he said.

The implementation program will be stage four of the study process and will include the development of strategic road networks and Local Traffic Management Plans.
