EUDLO and Forest Glen residents are asked to report to police or
Crimestoppers if they have any information on a silver F100 Ford utility with an aluminium
tray believed to be involved in three break and enters.
The three break-ins were quite daring, with one carried out while a
homeowner was away from his residence for only an hour. Three males who were seen driving
the Ford could be linked to the robberies. A number of household items and power tools
were stolen.
AS part of the current Traffic Branch Policing Initiative, and in
relation with Palmwoods Police, 106 motorists were breath tested in Palmwoods on October
13. While a few drivers were told to walk home (near the minimum illegal blood alcohol
level), there were no positive readings. They did stop four for speeding, two for failing
to produce a licence, two for unlicenced driving and one unregistered driver.
UNFORTUNATELY there were two alcohol related traffic accidents in the
district during the month, though nobody was injured. Motorists are again reminded to be
aware that the traffic enforcement will continue.
A SUSPICIOUS person was reported to be selling tickets in the name of
the Cancer Foundation. While authenticity of this person is uncertain, residents are
advised to seek proof of identification from anyone selling tickets, and report anything
unusual.
POLICE also featured in a safety day at the Palmwoods Riding for the
Disabled grounds in early October. Members of all the emergency service groups, as well as
the SES, a farm equipment expert and Giddy Goanna attended the event, organised to provide
safety education for Palmwoods State School students.
YOUTHS accidentally broke a plate glass window at the Cut Price Store
while larking about after leaving the hotel. Damage caused was $800. Anyone responsible
for deliberately breaking property is liable for the cost of repair.
