Learn about decoupage

PALMWOODS Arts And Crafts Group is staging and introduction to the art of decoupage on Monday, November 9.

It will be a sharing workshop with fellow members of the group wishing to participate under the direction of Lillian Rice. Inquiries to 5445 0602.

The Group enjoyed a highly successful open day on October 17, welcoming many district residents and Palmwoods Retirement Villagers. The group’s Lillian Rice offers thanks to all those who assisted in making the day a success including: the Lions who serviced hamburgers and drinks; Riding for the Disabled members who manned a stall and provided Devonshire teas; Petrie Park pottery group who demonstrated their craft; Hamish Borthwick on his lathe; Isobel Shipard and her herb display; Palmwoods florist Iris Coomer for her display; Audrey White and helpers for manning the popular baking and produce stall; Patricia Butler and helpers for showing visitors how paper is made; Lorraine Rowland demonstrated fabric painting and Pat Hoskins demonstrated folk art.

Other attractions included a popular calligraphy display arranged by Joan Lilly, and the Palmwoods Progress Association gave their assistance, with Ron Corelli and Bev Everson manning a display. Plans are underway for the group Christmas party, set for December 2. This will be in lieu of the final meeting for the year.
