Church update

PALMWOODS Uniting Church celebrates the 70th anniversary of Christian Worship Witness and Service at the present church building on Sunday, November 22 at 10am.

Guest preacher will be Rev Cecil Hawley. Worship will be followed by a fellowship lunch. A brief history of the church will be on sale for $5.

The history starts in about 1880 and follows on into 1998. Previous fold who have worshipped in either the Methodist or Presbyterian Churches in Palmwoods will be most welcome.

A combined Carol Service will be held on Sunday, December 13, at the Palmwoods Uniting Church, Church Street, at 7pm.


Guaranteed fun

PALMWOODS Singers Theatrical Society gaurantees a night of great entertainment, fun and good food when they stage their annual popular Theatre Cabaret at Palmwoods Memorial hall on November 26.

Return to Deadwood, directed by Nikki Murray, it is filled with unlikely characters such as Wyatt Burp, Doc Hollywood, Wild Bill Hiccup and the Milky Way Kid, who tries to save Deadwood from the wicked Banditos, with cowboys, indians, and townsfolk all playing their part, and Annie Okay tries to get her man.

The evening will be licensed and a hot supper is included in the admittance price of $15. There will also be a matinee on Sunday afternoon, with the admittance price $7.50 for adults and $3 for children including afternoon tea. Bookings are essential and are now open by phoning 5445 9280 or 5445 9257.


Gem show

SUNCOAST Gem and Fossicking Club is holding its 11th annual gem show at the Buderim Mountain State School on November 21.
