Singers in
fine voice for Christmas
MEMBERS of the Palmwoods Singers Theatrical Society have been madly
rehearsing for the Christmas eve Carols by Candlelight to be held under the stars at
Briggs Park.
The Singers are anticipating a wonderful night with a visit from Mr and
Mrs Santa, an enactment of the nativity, and a good old-fashioned Christmas carol
sing-along.
Volunteers from the Lions Club will hand out carol sheets and candles
as well as parking cars.
A beautifully adorned Christmas tree will add ambience to the night,
which continues to grow in popularity each year.
There will be a group of 50 singers providing the music, with Marjorie
Murray as pianist and Nikki Murray as conductor, and a new or recently born baby is
required for the nativity scene to star as baby Jesus.
In the event of inclement weather the carols will be held minus the
candles at Palmwoods Memorial Hall.
The night is totally free and a good time is had by all who attend.
All inquiries can be directed to Joy Williams on 5445 9280.
