Probus
group visits gardens
A GREAT roll up of members attended the November meeting of the Probus
Club of Woombye with 39 members and three visitors attending.
President Don McClusky extended a warm welcome to all.
The club outing for this month was a visit to the proposed site of the
Botanical Gardens at Tanawha. Members were very impressed with the work done by the
Committee and enjoyed a conducted tour around the site.
The guest speaker was Viv Blowers who entertained the meeting with an
outline of his recent trip around Australia. The "This is Your Life" segment was
presented by Daphne Blowers who gave us an insight into her early life in Kenya.
After the Christmas luncheon in December the club will go into recess
until the February outing - a BYO barbecue at Mary Cairncross Park on February 6. For
further information ring 5476 0069.
Many thanks to Palmwoods District News for publishing the notes each
month and best wishes for a happy festive season from members of the Probus Club of
Woombye.
