Lions
march for progress
MORE than 500 Lions and partners from District 201Q4, taking in
Palmwoods, as the southern boundary, north to Marlborough and west to Longreach/Winton,
including the Burnett regions, converged on Maroochydore High Schools Jubilee hall
for their annual convention on October 23/25.
The convention was hosted by the Buderim Lions Club Inc.
A very busy schedule of business sessions took place with several
excellent key note speakers, both locally, interstate and overseas participating.
Highlight of the social functions was the District Governors Banquet on the Saturday
night, with close to 600 people attending.
One of the several highlights of the convention was the election of
local Palmwoods/Woombye lion, Doug Montagu, to the position of vice District Governor,
1999/2000.
