Buy Aussie made goods

IN the constant battle to lure consumers to 'buy Australian' the Australian government often contradicts its own publicity by doing the exact opposite.

Recently two significant Australian Defence Services contracts were awarded to overseas suppliers, delivering a major blow to the previous Australian contract holders.

However, it seems that other countries have policies that put the Australian government to shame. For example, the US government has implemented the 'Buy America Act' which sets out that government agencies must purchase American goods wherever possible.

Regardless of the governments actions, we can all do our bit at a local level to help our manufacturers and of particular relevance to this area, our farmers remain viable. Check to see that all produce your purchase is Australian, and wherever possible, locally produced. Absolutely refuse imports as we need our farmers to stay in business.
