Singers
get a bit damp
DISTRICT residents only got half their carol singing quota in this
Christmas when the traditional Palmwoods Singers Theatrical Society carol night was washed
out after the first half of the program.
While a good roll-up of singers attended from across the Coast, rain
put a dampener on the occasion. The Singers' Joy Williams said the first part of the
program went very well, with the 50-strong Singers and the appreciative audience getting
into full swing. The second part of the program was cancelled when the Heavens opened and
valuable equipment had to be rescued.
"We had a good roll-up and they were very receptive. When the rain
started it was obvious many didn't want to leave. It's a nice relaxed family, friendly
occasion.''
