AFTER 26 years working for the Commonwealth Employment Service Bruce Soden felt like a change of direction when he purchased the Woombye Post Office licence last November.

Bruce’s day begins at 7.00 am when he sorts the mail and prepares for opening at 8.30 am.

He has a part-time helper Kyle, and together they have a busy day carrying out the multiple tasks the modern post office facilitates, such as banking transactions, bill paying, and general post office duties.

Bruce and his wife Wendy have had a long association with the Woombye/Nambour district with Bruce having spent 14 years (from 1982 to 1996) as manager of the Nambour CES office.

Bruce is enjoying his new challenge and working within the heart of the friendly Woombye community.
