POLICE BEAT
WITH SNR CONSTABLE PAUL CAMPBELL

THE recent floods that affected the Sunshine Coast have heightened the need for parents to remind their children about the dangers of flooded creeks and storm drains.

There were a number of youths rescued in the Eudlo and Nambour areas and this put their own lives at risk as well as their rescuers.

Firebugs be warned: IT would appear that there have been a number of firebugs causing minor fires around the Palmwoods Tennis and Cricket Club. A number of youths have been seen in the area in the evenings and minor damage has been caused to buildings. Arson is a very serious offence and if anyone has any information could you please contact us about this matter.

Back to school: OPERATION Back to School, which targeted speeding in the school zones, caught a number of local residents with infringement notices being issued. Be warned that Sunshine Coast Traffic Branch will be working in the Palmwoods area from time to time and their new laser targeting Speed Gun is very accurate and can pick a speeding vehicle from over a kilometre away so beware.

Engrave property: FOR the information of local residents, a reminder that you can use the Police Engraver to identify your property with a serial number that is placed on the Police Computer system. This number is generated by the Police and is engraved on all your valuables. In the event of a theft these items are easily identifiable and make them harder for the criminal to dispose of.

Inquiries to 5445 0749 and if we are unable to answer your call leave a message and we will get back to you.
