Walk of life

WHATEVER walk of life we come from, we are becoming increasingly aware of the change around us.

Although change is a part of life, it is increasing in both rate and scope and affecting every aspect of life - education, medicine, family, housework, communication and banking - to name just a few. In the area of education, we are trying to prepare our students for a workforce where 60% to 90% of the jobs they will be working in, have not yet been invented.

We are also becoming painfully aware that we do not have all the answers - who can predict the unpredictable? More and more we need the input of other people - parents, community members and other professionals - in order to provide the best possible education for our children. Educators as the fountain of all wisdom, have long since disappeared, if they ever existed and more and more in all walks of life people are needing to share their knowledge.

We are inviting you to share your knowledge with us to help us set the direction for Palmwoods State School for the next five years. We are specifically looking at what skills and knowledge our children will need for the future. We believe you, the community, as a collective group, have knowledge which can assist us in planning that direction. You are invited to a community meeting on Monday, March 15, at 7pm at The Palmwoods State School.
