Nicole talks incontinence
by Nicole Bunce

I HAVE a special interest in incontinence. Incontinence is a distressing, demoralising and socially isolating condition that more often affects the older person.

In the general community 10% of men and 15% of women aged over 65 years have regular episodes of wetness. This is not an inevitable consequence of ageing, it can be treated. There are many causes of incontinence and several methods of treatment.

Physiotherapy, for example, can make a huge difference to someone suffering from weak pelvic floor muscles. I have seen people’s lives change dramatically after diligently working on a simple exercise program. If you are interested in finding out more about this please come along to a free evening discussion on incontinence. I am very excited about developing my association with the Palmwoods community. My goal in life is to help people feel happy and healthy and teach them how to stay in good shape.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the patients that have already seen me for treatment. If people want to see me on my off days, Monday and Wednesday, this can be arranged.

Current hours are Tuesday 11.30 to 5 pm, Thursday 12.30 to 5pm, Friday 9.15 to 5 pm and Saturday 1 to 6 pm. Phone 5478 8500.
