Sarah's off to Fiji

WOOMBYE’S Sarah Millington has been chosen as Australian Youth Ambassador for Development to represent Australia and travel to Fiji.

Sarah, along with eight other young Australians, will participate in a five month program designed to assist in the development of sustainable tourism.

Federal Liberal Member Peter Slipper presented Sarah with an Australian flag and commended her on being chosen to participate in this $10 million dollar program. "This is a great opportunity for Sarah to use her skills to assist Fijian tourism while building goodwill between Australians and our South Pacific neighbours," he said.

"The project that Sarah is undertaking will not only make a positive contribution to our regional links, but also allow her to further enhance her educational qualifications through practical and ‘hands on’ experience."

Mr Slipper said that residents of Woombye and the whole Sunshine Coast could be very proud of her achievements.

Sarah left for Fiji on Monday, March 15, for her five month stint as a Youth Ambassador.
